Decision Velocity: The Hidden KPI Behind Every High-Growth Company

If there’s one trait that separates high-growth CEOs from the herd, it isn’t charisma, grit, or even intelligence.


It’s decision velocity.


Not reckless speed. Not ego-driven certainty.
It’s the ability to make informed decisions quickly, adjust quickly, and move the organization forward without emotional drag...

Every stalled business I’ve coached over the past six years had this in common: The owner was processing decisions emotionally instead of strategically. Paralysis by analysis. Death by hesitation.

When I was scaling a wireless organization to $100M+, our executive team lived by a simple mantra:


Slow decisions are expensive decisions.

Speed didn’t mean guessing. It meant having frameworks, data, and priorities dialed in so decisions became clearer, faster, and cleaner.

The 3 Elements of Decision Velocity:

  1. Clarity of Vision
    If you don’t know where you’re going, every option looks good. Or terrible. Usually both.

  2. Defined Priorities
    When everything is important, nothing is. Velocity requires constraints.

  3. Operational Feedback Loops
    The faster you get accurate data, the faster you adjust.

Sales & Marketing

The Psychology of Buyer Trust: How Modern Buyers Make Decisions

Modern buyers don’t trust easily. And they absolutely don’t trust hype.
They trust alignment, authority, and demonstrated understanding.
Here’s what most business owners miss:


People don’t buy because you’re the best. They buy because they believe you understand their problem better than they do.

Over 100+ client engagements, the same pattern keeps showing up: The companies with the best sales numbers are the ones that guide, not push.

Three Psychological Drivers Behind Buyer Trust:

  1. Cognitive Safety:
    Buyers want to feel you “get it” before they listen to your solution.

  2. Proof of Competence:
    Not features. Not sayings. Real evidence: Frameworks, case studies, processes.

  3. Predictability:
    A predictable process creates trust. A random process kills it.

This is why I hammer clients on sales frameworks, not sales “scripts.”
When you guide prospects through a thinking process (diagnose before prescribing), conversion rises, and sales cycles shrink.

Action Step:

Audit your prospect conversations. Are you telling them what you do, or helping them understand what they actually need? Change that, and watch trust skyrocket.


Financial Acumen

Cash Flow Mastery: Why Fast Growth Kills More Businesses Than Slow Sales

Fast growth is seductive. It’s also dangerous.

My trucking company went from zero to $6M in 11 months, and then imploded because I couldn’t raise the capital to support the growth rate.

Growth eats cash.

Sales don't kill businesses. Cash starvation does.

The three killers of fast-growth companies:

  1. Underestimating the cash needed to fulfill demand

  2. Growing expenses faster than collections

  3. No financial model tracking capital requirements

Businesses fail for three primary financial reasons:

  • They don’t know their numbers

  • They don’t track their numbers

  • They don’t understand their numbers

Cash flow is the life support system of the business. You must treat it like a weekly diagnostic, not a quarterly panic attack.

The Non-Negotiable Weekly Cash Flow Check:

  • Cash on hand

  • Accounts receivable aging

  • Accounts payable aging

  • Burn rate (yes, even small businesses have one)

  • Forecasted revenue vs. forecasted expenses

Fast growth is a blessing only if you’ve built the financial runway to support it.

Action Step:

Create a 13-week rolling cash flow forecast. Update it every Monday. CEOs who do this avoid 90% of common financial disasters.


The Coaching Corner

Running Transformational Client Sessions (Not Just “Good Conversations”)

Coaching isn’t about being liked.
It’s about shifting thinking, behavior, and outcomes.


A lot of coaches run “pleasant sessions” that make clients feel good for an hour… and change nothing long-term.
A scalable, sellable coaching practice requires repeatable transformation, not charismatic chats.

After serving 100+ business clients and leading a team of 25 coaches, here’s the truth:

Transformational coaching is built on frameworks, not vibes.

What a Transformational Session Looks Like:

  1. Starts with a defined outcome
    If both of you can't state the intended outcome in one sentence, you’re already off track.

  2. Uses a diagnostic framework
    You must help the client see the root issue they cannot see themselves.

  3. Creates a strategic breakthrough
    Insight is great. But clarity plus a path forward is what changes a business.

  4. Ends with commitments and accountability
    If it doesn’t end with action steps, it wasn’t coaching. It was a conversation.

The most successful coaches I’ve trained and mentored build systems, language, and predictable sessions.
Not because it’s easier.
Because it’s scalable, repeatable, and valuable.

Action Step:
Document a 3-step process you use in every client session. This becomes the foundation of your signature framework.
